Commercial software in TCM

Lists of software in TCM tend to become amusingly out-of-date. However, herewith a list which might be accurate (at least as of March 2011). It includes only software for which a licence fee is paid.

• Amber 11 (found in /rscratch/Amber).
• CCDC software (mercury, conquest, etc.), on pc52 only.
• Intel compilers and maths library.
• Mathematica. Also available for home use.
• Matlab. Also available for home use.
• NAG compilers and numerical libraries. Also available for home use.

(We are licenced for more of NAG's libraries than we have installed. Ask if you want some of the others.)

Needless to say, copying the above (and much other) software onto other computers without a licence is illegal, and using "pirated" software on TCM's computers, or on your own computers in TCM in the course of your work, will get you into lots of trouble. Not only is it illegal, but it would be the University, not you personally, which is likely to get sued.

It is also the case that our licences for the above are generally academic licences. Using this software for commercial purposes, especially by those who have left academia but still retain accounts in TCM, is not permitted.
